OUR STORY
We’re Matt and Carolyn - Outdoor lovers, bike riders, and parents to three young trail shredders. With decades spent climbing, hiking, and pedalling across New Zealand, we built The Claim to share this land we love with fellow explorers.
This isn’t just a place to stay - it’s a launchpad for the day’s next great ride, a glass of local pinot, or a quiet walk among the pines. We live just next door and are always happy to share a tip, a shuttle, or a track you’ve never heard of.
Each stay helps us support the Mokihi Trust, a local group replanting native species and restoring biodiversity across the region.
